What happened: The district employment office holds a district level mega job fair today, Tuesday 3 November 2026, at Feroze Gandhi Polytechnic in Ratapur, Raebareli. Reputed companies and employers from Uttar Pradesh and other states will take part. They will pick candidates for technical and non technical posts through interviews. District Employment Officer Dr Dinkar Kumar said men and women aged 18 to 40 can take part. Two more fairs follow this week under the Uttar Pradesh Rozgar Mission. Karmayogi Degree College in Mulihamau hosts one on 4 November, and Baiswara Degree College in Lalganj hosts one on 5 November. The office aims to select more than 5,000 candidates across the three fairs. Amar Ujala reported the schedule on 30 October, and Hindustan confirmed the Ratapur fair on 2 November.
Why it matters: Many young people in Raebareli travel to Lucknow, Kanpur or Delhi to look for work. A fair close to home saves them travel money and time. It also lets women candidates meet employers without a long journey. The Lalganj fair is open to candidates who have passed High School, Intermediate, ITI, polytechnic, graduation or post graduation. About 20 companies are due there, according to college principal Prof Pushpa Barnwal and the employment office.
Honest opinion: Fairs like this help, but the real test is how many interviews turn into lasting jobs. The reports do not say how many vacancies are open at Ratapur or what salaries the companies will pay. A district fair in November 2023 listed 623 posts, and many were in sales, security and field work. Candidates from far blocks may find it hard to reach Ratapur on a working day. We expect the employment office to share selection numbers within a week. Confidence: medium.
What you should do: If you are aged 18 to 40 and want a job, go to Feroze Gandhi Polytechnic, Ratapur, this morning. Carry copies of your CV, mark sheets, Aadhaar card and passport size photos. You can also check job fairs and register on the state employment portal, sevayojan.up.gov.in. If you miss today, plan for Mulihamau on 4 November or Lalganj on 5 November.
